Per Wikipedia, COTA (Circuit of The Americas )is a grade 1 FIA (International Automobile Federation)-specification 3.426-mile (5.5514 km) motor racing track and facilities located near Austin, Texas. It is the home to the Formula One United States Grand Prix (which is what I photographed for this Page), the IndyCar Classic and the Motortcycle Grand Prix of The Americas, a round of the FIM (Federation International Motorcycling ) Racing World Championship, as well as a round of the Americas Rallycross Championship. It previously hosted the Australian V8 Supercars, the American Le Mans Series, the Rolex Sports Car Series, the FIA World Endurance Championship and the IMSA (Internatioal Motor Sports Association) WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.
Over the years I have always loved auto racing and especially open wheeled racing. In college my racing hero was Formula One driver Jackie Stewart and always dreamed of attending a F1 race at Watkins Glen but never got the opportunity. Now living in Texas I got the chance to attend my first US Formula One Grand Prix. Here are some shots from the 2019 US Formula One Grand Prix in Austin, Texas.

It was a three day event for me and my son and here are shots of the track and practice prior to the race.
RACEDAY
It started out with sports car hot laps, parade of drivers, parachutes and a flyby.
Everywhere you looked people coated the hills and stands of the track. We could see turns 14 and 15 from our seats.

Moved around a bit and got some speed shots.I like this shot of Nico Hulkenberg, German driver #27 for Renaultcoming out of turn turn one heading for turn 2 at the bottom of the hill. Its a bit blurred but the reflection at speed I thought looked great.
